TNM Super League defending champions Silver Strikers are expected to name head coach today (Tuesday) following the end, on Sunday, of interim coach Stain Chirwa’s tenure.

Silver general secretary Mike Tembo confirmed that they will come out in the open on whether Chirwa will be engaged permanently or they will recall suspended Frank ‘Franco’ Ndawa.

“Everything will be done tomorrow (Wednesday) when we make an announcement,” Tembo said.

With two wins and two losses in cup and league games, Chirwa believes he and right hand man Francis Songo have done enough to earn permanent jobs. Silver finished the first phase of the league on position seven, with 22 points.

“I do not know whether we will be offered full-time jobs. We were told to see the team through the first round and our mandate has ended with the Bullets game. It is now all up to the executive,” Chirwa said after beating Big Bullets 3-1 at Kamuzu Stadium.

After a run of indifferent club and Super League results, Chirwa stepped in for suspended Ndawa coaching panel of Itai Nundwe and Hellings Mwakasungula in July.
